League Of Legends And Final Fantasy Tactics Combine In Skygard Arena's Now Live Early Access
A little MOBA, a little tactics combine, but you'll need to mix in your own strategy.
Here's a possibly neat one for you if you like the strategy of MOBA games and the planning of tactics games. Gemelli Games is starting early access for their game Skygard Arena. You can get into the action on Steam for $19.99, with a discount to $15.99 for a limited time.
Alright, you've shelled out some cash, what exactly are you getting into? Well, 5 factions are headed to the "Tournament of the Ancients" to settle their disputes. This means you'll take teams of up to 3 different champions into battles that mix up the tile-based tactics gameplay of something like Final Fantasy Tactics, and mixing in some of the hero dashing, teleporting, pillar controlling, and combos of a MOBA game.
It's a neat mix that caters to a few different audiences. Speaking of catering to multiple audiences, Skygard Arena has PvE in the way of a solo campaign that includes large-scale battles and boss fights. If you're more of a PvP player, head to the online arena to take on AI, friends, or climb the leaderboards against players in the matchmaking system. These matches are timed at 20 minutes, so it doesn't take too long to get a few matches in.
Each of the currently 9 available heroes comes in two different "personas" which determine their skill set. That means you have 18 playstyles available to start, with new heroes being added as development continues.
Check it out on Steam starting today.
