Latest World Of Warcraft Patch Has Mac Players Crashing Nonstop, Even When Using Stealth To Strike An Enemy
Blizzard says they are investigating the issue, but has no workarounds at this moment.
Player reports starting on January 24th after the latest World of Warcraft maintenance revealed Mac users were having problems launching the game. Users would download the recent patch as usual on Battle.net, but by booting WoW up, their screens would turn black before the game client crashed.
Days later, it's still a frustrating issue for Mac users, and Blizzard doesn't have a workaround as of this writing. And for those who manage to get into the game, players reported that going into stealth and attacking was also leading to crashes. Blizzard confirmed it was a known bug via the player's Twitter post and clarified there's no estimate on when a fix would get implemented.
For the time being, Blizzard recommends users experiencing constant crashes send information on their make/model, processor, GPU, and OS version. Nothing as of yet has been a clear indicator of what could be causing the problem, but players stuck in limbo have been requesting compensation for the setback.
