Konami Has An Amazing Financial Year With The Help Of Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel’s Global Launch
Konami is no longer just known for their arcade systems.
EA isn't the only company that is having an amazing financial year, but Konami is as well. Konami recently published the data for its current financial year and the company increased its operating profit by more than 100%. Konami is known all around Japan for its arcade systems as well as their pachinko machines (a game that is used as a gambling device that is similar to the slot machine in the West). However, looking at Konami globally, the global launch of Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel, a free-to-play title, is aiding in the rise of Konami’s sales as Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel alone has exceeded 30 million downloads as of April.
How this free-to-play title is helping the company is through its microtransactions. They allows players to spend as little or as much as they would like into the game. On top of that, Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game also continues to gain global support and deliver strong performance amid the COVID-19 epidemic. If Konami can continue to dedicate time and resources into the continued growth and support of their global titles like Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel, the company could continue to reach even higher levels of profits for the next fiscal year.
