Kid-friendly Sci-fi MMO NEO 2045 Takes Flight From Early Access
Terraforming, game creation, and pet battles included at launch.
VR Realms' free-to-play MMO NEO 2045 has made the transition from beta to full launch, making it the latest in the line of kid-friendly MMOs where players are encouraged to create their own content for others to enjoy.
NEO 2045 offers "a vast open world with different Player Realms that focus on various aspects of gameplay," as well as five social zones where players can chill out between adventures. Inside a Player Realm, you can terraform the landscape and "build structures and vehicles using dynamorphic components that connect seamlessly." Its game-making tool, Snap, is a drag-and-drop editor that enables many different types of games to be created, from obstacle courses to action games to adventure platformers.
Available at launch are pets, which can explore the world alongside their masters or participate in Pet Battles, which lets players go at it in card-based gameplay. NEO 2045 also comes with a parents' dashboard, so they can keep track of their children's usage and achievements, as well as setting playtime limits.
NEO 2045 is available on the App Store, Google Play Store, and Steam. You can also learn more about it on its website.
