Kakao Games Q3 2022 Earnings Report: 34% Overall Revenue Drop, Lines Up Dysterra, Eversoul, Ares, & ArcheAge War Releases
PC, mobile, and other platforms have seen significant drops for existing titles, but new games are on the way.
Kakao Games published its Q3 2022 earnings report that details an overall 34% revenue drop YOY (year-over-year) and a 9% decline QoQ (quarter-over-quarter) due to the "stabilization of mobile game services and elimination of seasonal effects" from its sports branch.
The company has been facing a "continued natural decline from existing titles" on PC and other segments, yet judging from their current busy project pipeline, games such as Dysterra, ArcheAge War, Odin: Valhalla Rising, Eversoul, Ares: Rise of Guardians, and others releasing soon may drum up engagement.
The report does not specify what existing titles are poorly performing, but it's clear from the charts released that drops are happening all over. Most of the positives from the Q3 financial results rest on the lively timeline of game releases lined up for the next quarter and across 2023.
Very soon, survival FPS Dysterra's early access will come to Steam on November 24 globally for Q4. Looking into Q1 2023 see the release of collectible RPG Eversoul on mobile globally except for Japan and China, and MMORPGs ArcheAge War and Odin: Valhalla Rising for PC and mobile restricted by region. The following quarters will see additional releases for these titles and new ones, mainly Odin coming to NA and Europe in Q4 and the futuristic Ares: Rise of Guardians coming out in the 2Q domestically.
