Just Over The Horizon Is The Return Of LoL’s Star Guardian
Basically Sailor Moon meets League of Legends.
League of Legends is welcoming everyone back to Valoran City on July 14 with the return of Star Guardian. “In a vast and dark universe, young warriors are chosen by fate to protect the light of the stars. They are destined to burn bright, but collapse as furiously as they burn.” The return of Star Guardian is the return of lore and skins that seem to encapsulate–in LoL’s own special way–the Magical girl subgenre of Japanese fantasy media that usually centers around girls who possess magical abilities, similar to Sailor Moon.
With the return announcement, coupled with a pink and purple dipped teaser trailer, the LoL player base is very excited for July 14. The trailer was produced by Sun Creature Studio and, due to the high-level of animation, some are hoping for an anime–which isn't completely out of left field considering the popularity behind the Netflix Original, Arcane.
“I’m literally so excited for y’all to see what we've been workin on you have no idea,” said concept artist Vlad Bacescu. “I hope y’all are ready for my personality to just be star guardians for like 5 months from now.”
July isn't too far off at this point, so all we can do is patiently wait and look forward to the possibility of an anime release and, if no anime, at least some amazing new LoL skins.
