Just Cause Devs Are Hiring A Senior Programmer For What Seems Like An Open World Multiplayer Game
Whether it'll be in the Just Cause universe is up for debate, though.
The company behind the bombastic Just Cause series, Avalanche Studios, is hiring a Platform Programmer for an unannounced "cutting edge, multi-platform, open world" AAA game. Of course, the job posting does not imply that this project is Just Cause-related, but it's clear that Avalanche is cooking up something big and seeking expert knowledge from someone versed in "multiplayer frontend."
VeryAli Gaming noticed the job listing alongside other roles supporting this mystery project. The future Platform Programmer is someone capable of developing "features that include profile management and savegames, leaderboards, achievements, online multiplayer frontend, DLC," and more qualities that expand into the multi-platform territory. Curiously, the other role responsibility is to ensure "developed features are easily transferable and reusable across a range of game projects," hinting that Avalanche may be using their Apex open world engine for more multiplayer games in the future.
Whoever takes on the assignment will likely contribute to many core games in their library within the coming years. Just Cause has been absent for some time, so maybe the unannounced game is set within its universe, but who can say until we hear more from the developers?
