July 2023's Final “This Week In Destiny” Includes The Season 22 Raid Reveal And Economy Changes
Also, there's tidbits about Season 21's Veil Containment and Dead Man's Tale.
This week’s “This Week In Destiny” is about the shooter's Season 22 raid reveal, Veil Containment in Season of the Deep, economy changes, and Dead Man’s Tale.
Firstly, in Destiny 2's Season 22, a reprised raid experience will be released, though its name remains a secret for now. The raid will go live on Friday, September 1. Players will have a chance to tackle this raid for the first time or relive it for nostalgic purposes. The raid will begin with Contest Mode activated for 48 hours, requiring players to clear it to access Challenge Mode and the secret Triumph. Completing the curated list of challenges in Challenge Mode will grant a fireteam the prestigious World First title and a special belt.
Secondly, Season 21 introduced the Veil Containment activity, delving into the mysterious Veil and Neomuna's history. The Narrative team shares that the activity was initially hard to find, but it starts after completing the Unfinished Business quest and the Parting the Veil quest. Players will pursue leads about unusual Vex activity, leading to hidden archival records in the Veil Containment facility. The activity unlocks more entries over time, providing deeper insights into the cosmic horror side of Destiny and the lore surrounding the Veil.
Thirdly, Bungie is making changes to ritual activity rewards based on player feedback. Weapon rewards will return to various activity pools and ritual engram drop rates will be increased upon completion. The Masterwork material caps have been adjusted as well. And Dead Man's Tale will be added to the Exotic Mission Rotator when Presage is available, making it craftable during the event. However, it won't be available from Xûr's inventory in Season 22. Also, players can also vote for the next Trials of Osiris map from August 1 to August 2.
Lastly, Bungie has been honored with the Accessibility Award from the Games for Change organization for its efforts in making Destiny 2 more inclusive. The team expresses gratitude to players for their valuable feedback and support in achieving a more accessible and enjoyable gaming experience for all.
