The man behind the first three Halo games is leaving Microsoft.
Joseph Staten led the creative team on Halo Infinite and was the cinematic director for Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo 2, and Halo 3. According to IGN, he’s departing the company after nine years of work on the shooter franchise..
“We’re grateful for Joseph’s contributions to the Halo franchise and Xbox as a whole," a statement from Microsoft read. "We wish him all the best in his new adventure.”
And Staten responded to the news himself on Twitter:
Hey folks, I am indeed leaving Microsoft. I'll have more info to share soon, but for now, I'd just like to thank all my @Xbox colleagues for all their understanding and support as I embark on a new adventure. https://t.co/oMR0LXOzZb
