Jagex Pushes Back RuneScape Update, Citing The "Spirit" Of The Community With Regards To Locked-out Accounts
Last Friday, Jagex informed players that it would be going ahead with content updates for RuneScape early this week despite some players' continuing inability to access the game. Just a few hours later, however, those plans were scrapped and "Major content releases have been postponed until further notice."
Mod Warden posted the update on the RuneScape site, saying that the dev team has seen "a spirit among so many of you - impacted or not - that you want to stand shoulder to shoulder together with your fellow citizens and enjoy major content releases at the same time." Considering the relatively small number of players who are impacted by the server issues, it's commendable of the community to want to delay new content so that those few unfortunate souls aren't left behind.
The decision to delay today's release shouldn't "come at the cost of any content plans for the year," although this represents a "balance we'll be bearing in mind" as the year goes on.
