Jagex CEO Discusses The Future Of RuneScape and Old School RuneScape
What does the future hold?
RuneScape and Old School Runescape fans have quite a bit to look forward to in the future of the two MMOs. New Jagex CEO Mod North sat down with the community managers to discuss his background, what it's been like stepping into the role of CEO, and what the future holds for both games.
During the video, North promises that Old School RuneScape will never have microtransactions following the conjoint membership analysis debacle. He admits that was a mistake. North also promises improvements to player support.
The 10-year plan is to grow the communities of RuneScape and OSRS without meddling with the formula that got them to where they are. North wants to stay out of the way and let the developers be empowered to deliver quality content.
North admits that Runescape 3 is not in a sustainable holding pattern at the moment. He knows there is a problem with MTX in the game, but it will take time to correct the course and keep Runescape 3 sustainable.
You can watch the full video below to see everything Mod North had to say about Runescape and Old School Runescape and what the future holds for each.
