It’s Almost Time For The Next Destiny 2 Season, And TWAB Post Spends Time In The Crucible
There will be Crucible updates.
Another Friday, another This Week at Bungie – which is more or less a rundown of what’s happening in Destiny 2. As always, there are a few things happening – both in-game and in the community. But the bulk of the post centers on the game’s next season, “Season of [REDACTED]”. Yeah, they’re not giving us that much. What we do know is that the new season will include Crucible updates. With that in mind, the devs spent time discussing their philosophy behind some of the features associated with the Crucible, stuff like Quickplay and ranked.
The post breaks things down by player experience with goals ranging from the most casual to the more hardcore. It also addresses the mode options that will be available in the new season. These will include Quickplay 6v6, Weekly Rotator 6v6/FFA, Competitive Division/Freelance 3v3 Crucible Labs, and private matches. The Crucible will also tie into limited-time PvP events like the Trials of Osiris 3v3.
The post also covers rewards, and the introduction of “Glorious”, which is a new title that will designate the best of the best players in the game. It’s part of the changes intended to make Unbroken less stressful.
A new Iron Banner is being introduced as well. In Iron Banner: Fortress, players will be capturing and holding zones. This arrives on January 3, 2023.
