Humble Games Layoff

A big change took place at Humble Games, with the company announcing a “restructuring”. The restructuring involved laying off the entire 36-member staff and moving what projects were left to complete to a third-party company, according to a report from Aftermath.

The layoffs were announced in a morning meeting yesterday, during which the President of parent company Ziff Davis’ technology and shopping division reportedly indicated the decision was the result of “long delays and rising costs”. It was also noted that Ziff had tried to sell Humble Games but it didn’t work out. Instead, they decided to let everyone go and transfer the remaining projects to The Powell Group.

Following the meeting, staff reported on LinkedIn that they were being let go and the company was closing. Humble Games disputes the latter part of the statement, emphasizing that this is a “restructuring” rather than a closure. A similar statement was posted on the Humble Games Twitter account, which now carries a content label noting that all staff had been fired.
