Humans Are Overrated, Why Not Just Become A Ghoul In Fallout 76 Instead?
Doing so gives you new abilities...but they do come at a slight cost, including looking like you're falling apart.
Radiation is annoying, right? Why not just skip having to deal with it at all in Fallout 76? Sadly, humans don't have that option. We have to eat, drink, and avoid radiation. You know who doesn't have to worry about such things? Ghouls. Sure, you have to deal with looking not quite fresh and maybe parts of your body fall off every now and then, but you give and take with everything, I guess.
That hasn't been an option in the survival game, though, until now. Today's new "Ghoul Within" update literally lets players opt to explore Appalachia as a ghoul. Ghouls not only look awesome, but they also gain their own set of abilities and unique Perk cards. Hit up the "Leap of Faith" questline and meet some new friends in the Savage Divide. They'll help you transform.
Radiation does give you a very nice glow, though. To keep that glow, and the HP buff that comes with it, make sure to keep yourself well-fed on Chem. The "Glow of the Ghoul" season comes with the update which offers multiple new rewards and events. A slew of balance changes and fixes make their way to the game, too.
While you can technically turn back into a human if you like, that change back is one way. If you want to become a ghoul again and have already completed the quests, you'll need to pay Atoms to do so.
