Huge Apex Legends Leak Reveals Nine New Legends, Maps, Weapons, And More
New ultimate abilities can turn players invisible or erect a defensive fortress.
There are leaks, and then there are leaks. Apex Legends suffered one of the latter yesterday, it appears, as fans claim to have found details regarding the next two years' worth of content, including a new map, new weapons, and the next nine – yes, nine – Legends.
The massive info dump can be found on Reddit, and while the folder containing the leaked assets is no longer available, the top comment provides a handy summary. One video showed off two new arena maps, “one seems to be almost finished, another not yet (gray surfaces),” along with the Nemesis B-AR and Fanatic energy pistol.
The nine Legends include three support Legends, three defense Legends, two recon Legends, and one that doesn't have an icon. That one is Jester, the “Tricky Trapper,” whose ultimate ability cloaks his allies for a brief period of time, making them invisible. Some of us have a hard enough time hitting players when we can see them...
Other videos included a look at the Chapter 7 comic, Valkyrie and Crypto heirlooms, another map, named “Divided Moon,” that's “far from finished,” and more info on defense Legend Newcastle, who can “Leap and slam to a target ally or area and create a fortified stronghold” with his ultimate ability. Imagine that: Epic Games took building out of Fortnite, only to have it resurface in Apex Legends.
Unsurprisingly, Respawn Entertainment has yet to comment on the leaks and their authenticity. Given the massive amount of information and its level of detail, it's hard to imagine that they wouldn't be legitimate, but if they really do cover two years' worth of development, then a lot might change before they see the light of day.
