Hi-Rez Teases "HUGE" Announcements In Initial Plans For Virtual 2021 Expo
Yet another video game convention is making the shift to become a fully virtual experience in response to the ongoing pandemic. Hi-Rez studios had hoped to host the Hi-Rez Expo at its long-time home in the Atlanta Cobb Energy Centre in January, but with the way things are going, the studio decided to host the event digitally from Hi-Rez's broadcast studio.
While Hi-Rez doesn't have all the fine details ready to announce yet, they did offer up some information on the Smite and Paladins World Championship events as well as the first ever Hi-Rez Showcase. The SWC will be held in January, as planned. However, the Paladins tournament has been moved up a bit and will take place December 3-6. This is likely due to just not having enough resources at the studio to manage both events at once.
The Smite World Championships will run from January 4-10 and the Hi-Rez Showcase will take place January 7. The Showcase is where Hi-Rez plans to make "HUGE" announcements as well as host panels and the annual cosplay contest.
Of course, we're sure more details will be provided about the event as it draws closer. There's sure to be some sort of related merch for fans to spend some of their hard-earned cash on should they want it.
