Hi-Rez Studios Is Making Big Changes With Aim Assist And Bullet Magnetism In Paladins
You're gonna need more accuracy!
Bad news for Paladins players who can’t nail those headshots.
The developers at Hi-Rez Studios have addressed player feedback regarding Aim Assist, particularly in the context of crossplay and Ranked gameplay. The feature, which is pretty necessary for controller users in order to compete with keyboard and mouse players, has faced criticism — notably regarding bullet magnetism. Some players on PC are saying the Aim Assist is unbalanced, particularly with certain champions like Talus and weapons that use hitscan.
After much analysis and testing to maintain controller viability while reducing its impact on high-level play, the developers are proposing significant adjustments in the shooter's upcoming 7.2 update. Universally, the minimum level of bullet magnetism will be reduced by 25%, requiring players to have greater accuracy to land headshots. Additionally, champions with fast-firing close-range weapons, such as Talus, Lex, and Koga, will see a similar reduction in the maximum level of bullet magnetism.
These changes aim to create a more balanced gameplay experience across all input methods, but player feedback from the Public Test Server will be crucial for what actually gets implemented in the game.
