Hi-Rez Studios' F2P Shooter Rogue Company On Track For Late Summer Release
First Watch Games and Hi-Rez Studios have shot out another developer blog for upcoming free-to-play shooter Rogue Company. Lead Designer Scott Lussier showed off some footage from the game while boasting that it offers a "unique blend between action-based gameplay and objective-based gameplay." So ... you shoot things and claim objectives? Unique, indeed!
Hype-busting snark aside, it looks pretty polished and nearly ready for its late summer release. Lussier said that the game is in the "late stages" of development and he's spending most of his time "refining the core combat experience."
Its cross-play and cross-progression features -- it will launch on PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and the Switch -- should help bring it to a wide audience. In fact, Lussier touts its performance on the Switch with an anecdote, saying that playing Rogue Company "at 60 FPS as I sit on the couch and my wife is watching another episode of Love Island is a dream come true."
If you want to try Rogue Company for yourself, head over to the game's website to sign up for the alpha test.
