Hey Rejects, Warhammer 40K Darktide's Secrets Of The Machine God Is Out And The Patch Notes Take Multiple Pages
New weapons, new content, and a list of bug fixes worthy of the Emperor.
Another free update comes to Warhammer 40K: Darktide and it hits the looter-shooter with new content, new weapons, and enough bug fixes and improvements to take up not just one page, but two pages of patch notes on the official forums.
If you own the game, you're able to hop into the Secrets of the Machine God update for free right now. The update introduces the new Clandestium Gloriana mission, a deep and dark mission that will introduce you to a new NPC named Swagger. Swagger not only gives you the mission, but will actually be in the mission with you. Swagger being in the mission is a new piece of NPC tech added to Darktide's storytelling. Swagger won't just be a one hit wonder, either. Expect to see Swagger in the future.
On the weapons side of things, get ready to pick up new pickaxes, shock mauls, double barreled shotguns, and bolt pistols. Each of the new weapons should look very familiar to Warhammer fans. Weapons also get a bit of extra love in an improvement to crosshairs.
Due to two issues, crosshairs were actually somewhat unreliable, only hitting "approximately within the centre 50-75% areas of the extents of any given crosshair." A fix to the field of view slider scaling the crosshair and the size of the crosshair itself should result in a much more accurate targeting.
Dive into the patch notes to see all the weapon changes made to your favorite weapons and the bug fixes the free update adds.

Let's hope this is a sign that they're finally thinking of adding bots to the game. That's the only reason I played Vermintide 2, I much prefer playing with NPCs.
