Start Getting Your First Looks At Genshin Impact's 3.0 Region Sumeru And How The Team Makes New Regions
Travel to the rainforests and deserts of Sumeru.
HoYoVerse is preparing for the eventual rollout of Genshin Impact’s 3.0 update. With these "point-oh" updates comes an all-new nation and associated element for players to explore. This time, we’ll be traveling to a vast rainforest region, Sumeru.
Once we’re closer to the update’s actual release, the Genshin team will undoubtedly host another Special Program to offer us a look at the new zone, characters, and anything else we can expect from it. But, it seems they can’t wait that long to offer us something. That’s why they’re dropping teaser videos showing off the new nation of Sumeru.
The first preview teaser, if you missed it, dropped earlier in the month and shows off the Dendro Element. That would be Element associated with life and nature. The second video, Of Rain and Sand, dropped over the weekend and highlights the region’s landscape, both rainforest and desert, and what went into creating it. The dev video discusses looking at the vegetation and structures found in the real world and how they – once again – tried to bring that realism into the game. Of course, not without a bit of fantasy. There is a city built on a giant tree, after all.
