The Delay Is Over: New World's Season Of The Guardian Update Is Coming Next Week
A new trial, artifacts, controller support, and more.
After a delay, New World will finally be launching Season of the Guardian on Tuesday, April 2nd. Downtime begins at 12 PM UTC and is expected to last for two hours.
This update brings with it the new Winter Rune Forge Seasonal Trial, new Artifacts, the overhauled combat and animation system, mounts in Outpost Rush, controller support, a new season pass, and cooking and other tradeskill changes.
You can join up to 10 max-level players in the Winter Rune Forge seasonal trial. It requires teamwork to overcome Rune puzzles, slay an icy construct, and defeat an ancient Ice Guardian.
New Artifacts in this update include the Sin hatchet, Venom spear, Tempest Fury great axe, Nature's Wrath medium chestwear, Gilli's Gravity Gauntlets heavy gloves, Ironheart heavy legwear, Creed light footwear, and Phoenix amulet.
The overhauled combat and animation system is designed to make things run a little smoother in big groups like OPR and Wars.
Controller support will finally make its way into New World in this update. You can check out our previous controller support deep dive coverage.
It all finally goes live on April 2nd.
