Hearthstone Battlegrounds Season 4 Introduces New Hero And Fresh Minions, Plus Some Removals
Tune in to the playtest preview today to see what all the noise is about.
Things are about to really shake up in Hearthstone’s Battlegrounds with Season 4.
When Blizzard drops Patch 26.2 on May 9 in the card game, Buddies will be stepping aside to make way for E.T.C.'s World Tour, which will introduce a brand new hero and many fresh minions in a loud stadium atmosphere. Hero Rockmaster Voone has a passive Hero Power where every third turn you will receive a plain copy of the left-most card in your hand. And joining him are the “Upbeat” minions,” which have unique effects that activate every few turns they remain in play and become stronger each time.
The Poisonous keyword is also being replaced with a new keyword called Venomous. The first minion that is damaged by a Venomous minion during each round of combat is instantly destroyed. Mega-Windfury is removed too, and replaced with normal Windfury when a Windfury minion is tripled.
Aside from that, there will be major changes to the minion pool. 59 minions will be removed, and 58 new ones will be introduced along with the return of 3 old minions. Additionally, existing minions will be updated, and their abilities will be revamped.
Moreover, players will switch to earning rewards on the new Battlegrounds Track during season 4, which includes new E.T.C.-themed and musical cosmetics. The Season Pass provides +2 Hero options at the start of each game and unlocks the new E.T.C.’s World Tour Legendary Strike. Players can earn up to 15 additional Hero Skins throughout the Season. Any unclaimed rewards from Season 3 will be automatically claimed.

Note: Activision Blizzard has been sued by California’s Civil Rights Department, alleging violations of California’s Fair Employment and Housing Act and Equal Pay Act. CEO Bobby Kotick is alleged to have known about the alleged violations within his company. These allegations have all been denied by Activision Blizzard and the company points to additional diversity and inclusion training as past examples of taking the accusations seriously at the time they were made.
