To Focus On Things With The "Most Impact", Hearthstone Announces End To Duels Mode
The devs are looking to focus their resources on other things.
Today, Blizzard announced an important change to Hearthstone. In an effort to focus on things that “will have the most impact”, Blizzard has decided to bring an end to Duels Mode. Going forward, there will be no more updates for the card game's mode. Further, the mode will be removed totally come April.
According to the announcement, this change will let the Hearthstone team focus on things like traditional Hearthstone and Battlegrounds. That means that Battlegrounds Duos will be getting a patch in the near future. In addition, the devs will be testing out Duels Treasures in the next Arena season, so while the Duels Mode is going away, players will have other options.
