Halo Infinite Players Recreated Some Sick Maps From Past Games With The In-Game Forge Feature
Already, players are popping out map remakes within the first month of the Forge Beta release.
Since 343 Industries released the Winter Update for Halo Infinite on November 9, adding match XP and kicking off the Forge Beta, players have been remaking zones from older games in the franchise. From Halo 2 to Halo: Combat Evolved, fans have made 1:1 and close imitations of former PvP maps that allow players to enjoy them across different classic game modes.
From 343's latest "Forge Features" blog series cataloging their favorite community-created content, the Maps & Modes section highlights a few highly-rated zone recreations:
First up was Halo 3's Narrows map, outfitted with man cannons on its signature multi-level bridge and more put together with an all-new aesthetic. The devs were planning to give players a Banished-themed Forge palette for recreating a map like this, but Halo Infinite fan AngelitoCO made it work with what was available.
Next is a surprisingly 1:1 recreation of Lockout (at the top of this post) from Halo 2. Fitting its background as one of the most iconic multiplayer maps, players can engage in 1v1 battles or team-based 4v4 action across the classic Slayer, King of the Hill, and Oddball modes.
Lastly, remade in the vein of Halo: Combat Evolved's Derelict, the fan-created Outcast map captures much of the former's DNA. Especially the Forerunner aesthetic and the eerie feeling of isolation from the original zone. Players can hop in and try out 4v4 Slayer and King of the Hill on Outcast.
343 Industries are blown away by their community's "cunning creativity" and "flurry of content that appears daily...[providing] countless hours of fun." Fans will likely see more recreations across Halo's expansion history and new inspirations in their next post.
