Guild Wars 2 Introducing New Reward System “The Wizard’s Vault”, And No, There's No "Premium" Tier
Wizards are coming, and they’re bringing gifts.
When Guild Wars 2’s Secrets of the Obscure drops, it will bring with it a new take on a seasonal content pass, The Wizard’s Vault. Wizards aren’t common in Tyria, but that’s about to change a bit. Not only are they making an appearance, but they’re bringing with them all the treasures they’ve been hoarding for however long they’ve been doing it.
These treasures are going to be made available to players via The Wizard’s Vault, which will offer the MMORPG's players a way to earn rewards by taking on different challenges. As players complete challenges, they earn “astral acclaim”. This is spent to buy items from the Wizard’s Vault. This is a twist on the whole just "unlocking items at each level", and allows players flexibility in what and how they receive their rewards.
The rewards in the Vault will change every few months. This means that players have a good amount of time to earn the rewards they want while knowing that other options will be made available before too long.
The other thing that differentiates The Wizard’s Vault from other games’ reward system is that there’s no premium tier. Players can’t buy astral acclaim. The only way to get the rewards is to play the game.
