Guild Wars 2 Is Getting A Shiny New 5v5 PvP Mode, And The Devs Want The Players To Help Develop It
The beta is coming soon.
ArenaNet is working on a new PvP mode for Guild Wars 2. The team has decided the MMORPG needs a 5v5 Push mode, but they don’t plan to just implement it and go. Instead, they’re looking for feedback from players via a beta test of the mode that will begin on September 10. This feedback will be used in development so, if you’re a PvP fan, you’ll probably want to take part.
If you’re not familiar with PvP modes and wonder what, exactly, "Push" is, the mode has an objective that one team must push into the enemy base. Of course, the other team will be trying to push into your base, so the goal is to make it to their base before they can make it to yours.
The decision to add this mode to Guild Wars 2 is based on the team’s desire to add something a bit more accessible – but still challenging – to the game. They wanted something that would be less overwhelming for new players than Conquest.
As noted above, the Push beta begins on September 10. It will run until September 23, so players have two weeks to offer feedback. The devs warn that players will run into placeholder assets, so try to keep that in mind when submitting feedback.
