Grand Theft Auto V Broke The Epic Games Store, But It's Free If You Can Get To It
The Epic Games Store may have underestimated the demand for this week's free game offering, because their site appears to not be able to handle the strain. In fact, the site's been waffling between being somewhat up -- but not letting us click through to the free game, to not being up at all. So, it would seem that despite the game having been around for a good while, a lot of people would still like to have a copy of Grand Theft Auto V for free.
The 7-year-old game is available on pretty much every platform and store, and generally runs around $30 at this point. Of course, there are frequent sales. So, we'd all probably be forgiven for thinking that everyone who really wanted the game had probably picked it up by now.
That said, the online feature is really popular with a lot of players, and we do have a lot more bored people sitting around at home now. Perhaps the demand should have been expected.
Normally, we'd provide you with a handy link direct to the game's download page, but the whole site is down for us again. Still, y'all know how to get to the EGS. So if you're wanting to pick up the game, just check in every so often to see if the page is up. We'll add the proper link when it's available to us.
