Launch Royale Returns: Go Back To Where It All Started In Apex Legends' "From The Rift"
5 years in and the battle royale is bring back the mode and items that started it all.
Remember when Fortnite OG was announced and the battle royale was taking players back in time to the game's launch? Yeah, it was pretty successful. Now Apex Legends is doing something similar, technically again as they did a similar update not too long ago. In Apex Legends' new "From the Rift" update, dropping today, Respawn is taking players back to where the five year old game all started.
Launch Royale returns as a limited-time mode so players can hit up the mode and get their "first drop" rush, according to the team. It isn't just the mode returning, though. Coming with the mode is a bevy of classic weapons and Legends, but there won't be any EVO upgrades or armor here.
Those that miss the medic days get a chance to relive their glory as the medic Lifeline gets a new kit that includes the ability to teleport D.O.C. to friends and raise the shields when needed.
Things can get a little crazy, though, when rifts start opening up. The skies are torn and Rift Relics start granting more powerful weapons and a new survival slot item.
The update includes a number of balance changes, too, so make sure to read through the patch notes prior to launch.
