Gladiators Online Preps for Steam Launch
Dorado Online Games has taken down the ability to register for Gladiators Online as the game preps for its October 27th launch on Steam. Players that already have accounts can still play in the beta until then, but new users will have to wait until the title comes out on Steam.
Gladiators Online: Death Before Dishonor is a free to play title featuring the ability to buy "premium" content. The premise is simple: train and equip your stable of gladiators in an attempt to reap massive rewards while avoiding the game's permadeath feature.
Dorado Online Games bills the game as "free to win" and states, "Following the "Free2Win" creed Dorado Games has gone to great lengths creating a level playing field for Gladiators Online. Being passionate players ourselves, we are strongly committed to providing our fans with a fair combat system and game progression - no matter if free or pay.
Designing our monetization features we were careful to emphasise time advances and secondary benefits over primary combat traits. This allows us to both create attractive services and items while minimizing their influence on the outcome of the actual fight results."
