Give the Gift of the Valar in LotRO and Auto-level to 50
'Tis the season to be giving, and Turbine's got quite the gift for impatient fans of The Lord of the Rings Online.
From the 13th to the 19th, you can obtain the Gift of the Valar for one of your characters, instantly ramping that character up to level 50 -- the original level cap -- while also granting a plethora of other goods and benefits, including level-appropriate gear, the riding skill (complete with riding goat), food and XP boosts, and 25 Mithril Coins. The entire list of benefits can be found here.
All this will set you back 4,995 Turbine Points. The store page lists 3,150 TP for $34.99 and 6,300 TP for $59.99, making the proposition cost around $50 -- maybe not as expensive as a mithril-coat, but still rather pricy. Of course, if you're a subscriber or a lifetime account holder, it's a nice way to use the TP you've been hoarding and get a head start (the current level cap is 95) on an alt.
LotRO becomes just the latest MMO to offer an abbreviated leveling experience, following the likes of World of Warcraft, TERA, and EverQuest II, among others. What do you think of the practice, and have you ever taken advantage of it?

No, we still don't have updated timing on the game's publisher transition.
don't understand why companies are doing this especially for free (although it was time / 1 char limited) --- are they basically saying that the leveling up from start to X game-play is basically crap???? Unless their end game (or getting close to it) is stunning then surely it's just boring 'filler' to the game itself, which then queries why did they program the crap to begin with
