Ghost Of Tsushima Clarifies That It Will Require A PSN Account For Online Multiplayer
You will not need a PSN account for single player.
Following a weekend of backlash over Helldivers 2 requiring players to be connected to a PlayStation Network account, developer Sucker Punch wants to be upfront and clear when it comes to Ghost of Tsushima and PSN. Scheduled to launch for PC on May 16th, Sucker Punch has clarified in a Tweet that a PSN account will be required for those who wish to play the online multiplayer portion of the game. For those just interested in the single-player portion, a PSN account will not be required.
Thank you for your feedback.
Just so you are aware, A PSN account is required for Legends online multiplayer mode and to use PlayStation overlay. It is not required to play the singleplayer game.

Sony has now backed down on the PSN requirement for Helldivers 2, but it looks like all future Sony-published games will still require the account connection, including Ghost of Tsushima if you want to play multiplayer.
