Get Your Final Treasure Heists In Now, Hood: Outlaws And Legends Is Shutting Down In February
With literally zero Steam players in the last two hours, this wasn't hard to see coming.
Another multiplayer PvPvE game is signing off for the last time early next year. Focus Entertainment and Sumo Digital has announced that Hood: Outlaws and Legends will stop sales of the title next month on October 16th. If you purchased the game within the 14 days prior to this announcement, you'll be offered a refund. The date's a little weird since TECHNICALLY it means you could still buy it now to play it a bit and get a refund come October 16th. I'm not exactly sure why sales aren't just suspended immediately, but whatever.
While servers will still be open come October 16th, they will eventually shut down entirely making any Editions, DLCs, and Battle Pass items no longer accessible. The shut down date for all platforms will be February 18th, 2025.
The team doesn't give a lot of specifics here, only saying, "This has been a difficult but necessary decision, and we understand it may be disappointing. The Hood teams deeply thank you for your support and dedication throughout this incredible adventure. We cherished every part of it and we hope your memories of Hood: Outlaws & Legends will be as treasured as ours."
That said, it isn't hard to see why the game is going away. While it is available on multiple platforms, Steam has only seen 11 players in the last 24 hours and currently has zero players in game.
Interestingly, most of the reactions on social media are generally positive on what the game "could" have been, but directly blame the team for not supporting the game the way is should have been supported. Probably a good reason for the "Mixed" reviews, too.
