Get Your Speed Fix With This Week's Two Free EGS Offerings
This week's Epic Games Store freebies are all about speed -- fast cars and fast hedgehogs. Between now and next Thursday, players can grab AQUIRIS' Horizon Chase Turbo or Lab42 and SEGA's Sonic Mania (or both) for free. This isn't a huge savings deal, each game cost about $20 normally. But, hey. $20 can easily come in handy somewhere.
Sonic Mania is a new adventure that holds onto that old 2D action platformer classic Sonic style, at 60FPS. The free offering will get you the base game. There's one bit of DLC that'll run you $5 if you want it.
Horizon Chase Turbo is a racing game inspired by classic 80s and 90s racing games like OutRun and Rush. It's designed to recreate classic arcade play, and even boasts a graphical style that pays tribute to those games, but in 4k. The game also includes split-screen multiplayer for up to 4 players and a variety of competitive content.
