Get The Skinny on Dauntless' Phat Loot
Kill stuff, get loot. It's the basis of many an MMO, and Dauntless is no different. In the most recent dev blog, the guys at Phoenix Labs lay out just how you'll get that shiny armor -- spoiler alert: you'll have to kill Behemoths.
Dauntless is set in the Floating Isles, which float because of a substance called aether. Aether is also the lifeblood of the Behemoths, so when you kill one, you get a bit of aether. Get enough and you can bring it back to Ramsgate, where a smith will forge it into some epic armor or weapons.
But wait, there's more! You can purchase either Champion or Patron status to boost your aether drop rate. As a Champion, only you will get the bonus, while Patrons extend the bonus loot to everyone in their party. Patrons also have a chance to get Chroma Cores (described in the previous blog) to drop when they slay a Behemoth.
