Get Ready To Destroy The Embers Adrift Servers, But It's Totally Okay
They want you to, they'll even reward you for it.
Stormhaven Studios is just about ready for another bit of testing on Embers Adrift, but this one is going to be a bit different. This time, they want players – both existing beta testers and new ones to be added – to hop in there with the sole goal of breaking things. This is it, guys. Instead of trying to save a world, you're trying to burn one down. Of course, that’s all in the interest of science.
At 10:00 am Central time on Saturday, April 30, Stormhaven will open the floodgates and let all current beta players (and new players selected from a pool of those who sign up via the game’s site) jump into the game and begin the process of stress testing the game. In exchange for their diligent (if destructive) work, players will receive both a World Breaker title and a special Ember Inlaid Sword. Both items will be rewarded upon the game’s release.
In additional news, the developers dropped a new patch recently. Among the changes outlined in the notes, one of the bigger ones is the simplification of crafting. The developers are moving away from materials that work across all levels and back to the tiered system. To make sure players still have a good selection of materials to work with at all times, they'll also be creating high-level variants of low-level items. More details on this, as well as other changes, can be found in the notes on the Embers Adrift forums.
