The Elder Scrolls Online High Isle Blog

As we get closer to the release of The Elder Scrolls Online's High Isle expansion in June, Bethesda is offering players more insight on what to expect. Today, they published a post on the game’s website specifically designed to preview the new zone. It begins with a look at the Systres Archipelago and then takes a look at the politics of Breton chivalric society before moving on to discuss some of the more dangerous creatures players will find there.

Of course, Bethesda has been dropping bits of information here and there over the past several months. We know that this new city-state is a place focused on politics and that everything revolves around the noble houses. We also know there are those that are overlooked, that not everything is as nice as it might appear on the surface.

With this post, we learn about the history of the region and why it's so important to the Bretons. Of course, it involves their ancestors, the Druids of Galen, who settled there "in ages past". Although, the fact that it's home to the All Flags Navy and a wealthy resort area probably doesn’t hurt.

The new zone is more colorful than some and intended to give off that medieval feel. It's mostly inspired by the Mediterranean coast while focusing on the sea-faring history of its people. The zone also has pretty nice weather – unlike the neighboring Amenos. That's not to say Amenos' weather isn't totally appropriate for what it is: an island prison.

As for the things one might run into there, well, there are creatures created by people messing with the island’s magic. People just can't leave stuff alone.
