Get A Kick Outta Fortnite With A Competitive Soccer Collaboration Event
Alright soccer fans, it's time to get your game on in Fortnite. Beginning tomorrow, the battle royale offers fans a chance to show love to their favorite club while earning some in-game goodies for themselves. Epic Games has partnered with Brazilian superstar Pelé, along with 23 clubs, to bring the sport to Fortnite. The whole thing kicks off with the Pelé Cup, where players will have a chance to win the Air Punch Emote and Kickoff set, as well as a customized signed shirt.
The tournament consists of three leagues, each broken into ten divisions. At the end of the tournament, players will earn rewards based on their region. For example, if you're playing on a North American West server and come in 3rd or higher, you'll receive a Signed FC Santos Jersey. The top 500 players in the same region will receive the following:
- “Pelé’s Air Punch” In-game Cosmetic Emote and “Midfield Master”
- “Sgt. Sweeper”
- “Galactico”
- “Power Poacher”
- “Breakaway”
- “Striker Specialist”
- “Shot Stopper”
- “Derby Dominator”
- “Tiki Tackler”
- “Pitch Patroller” In-Game Cosmetic Outfits
These items will be rewarded to the top players in all regions. However, the number of players that will receive them vary by region.
Players who don't win items via the tournament won't be left out. On January 23, they'll be able to grab club outfits and Pele’s Air Punch Emote from the shop.
If you plan on competing in the tournament, you'll want to read the official rules, which are plentiful. You can find them here.
