Get A Behind The Scenes Look At Funcom’s Upcoming Dune: Awakening MMO From The PC Gaming Show
Yes, it includes gameplay footage.
If you’ve been waiting to find out more about Funcom’s open-world survival MMO Dune: Awakening, then you’re going to want to check out this video from the PC Gaming Show. The thirteen-minute video, posted by PC Gamer, features interviews with Creative Director Joel Bylos and Game Director Viljar Sommerbakk. They discuss the focus of the game, where players start out, and what they can work toward. As this is a survival game, players start out with almost nothing and will have to do everything they can to survive while trying to become a powerful figure in the world.
The video offers players a look at Dune: Awakening’s gameplay, but do keep in mind this is alpha footage. What they’re showing players now could be completely different by the time we hit launch. Still, it gives us an idea of what they’re going for.
As some of you may know, Funcom is one of the many companies under the Tencent umbrella these days. That means that Dune: Awakening is one of the many games under the Tencent “partner company” umbrella that was highlighted at the PC Gaming Show this weekend. Others include Path of Exile 2 – which we wrote about here, Digital Extremes and Airship Syndicate’s Wayfinder (trailer below), Level Infinite and NExT Studios’ free-to-play co-op shooter Synced, and a 60-player battle royale kart racer titled Stampede: Racing Royale (trailer also below).
