Get An Early Look At Ashes Of Creation In The Unreal 5 Engine
It’s pretty...not much more to say here so...HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
Ashes of Creation developer Intrepid Studios dropped the final update video of 2021 yesterday and it offered a first look at the game since they’ve begun migrating it to Unreal Engine 5. The video, hosted by Creative Director Steve Sharif, is recorded in-game and shows the current state of the game’s world and explains the process that went into migrating to the new engine – including the process of even deciding to do it at all.
Also highlighted in the video is a relatively new biome, suited for the season. It also offers an opportunity to discuss the environment’s effect on players. Other features highlighted are movement, including being able to grab onto something like the side of a cliff when you fall off of it.
Overall, it’s a pretty neat video, and even if you weren’t interested in the game before, it seems like it’s worth a watch, particularly if you have an interest in graphics, lighting, and the like.
