Gamescom 2018: Mephisto, Lord Of Hatred, Revealed As Next Character Coming To Heroes Of The Storm
Gamescom is kicking off in Cologne, Germany this week, and we all know what that means... Announcements! Even though the doors don't open for visitors and media until tomorrow, the developers portion of the event started yesterday, which means some companies already have things to share. In this case Blizzard would like to share the good (to anyone who enjoys evil lords anyway) news that Diablo's own Lord of Hatred, Mephisto will be joining the fight in Heroes of the Storm's Nexus.
Mephisto is taking on the role of a ranged assassin, armed with Skull Missiles, Lightning, and even a teleportation ability. Oh... and as we should all expect, his abilities do include one titled "Consume Souls" which not only damages and slows enemy heroes, but also reveals them. There's also a root ability called "Durance of Hate" that pins an enemy for 2 seconds dealing damage to them at the same time.
Basically, Mephisto looks like a great time for anyone playing him... maybe not so much for his opponents. A closer look at Mephisto's abilities is available on the Heroes of the Storm site.
Also announced this week is the return of the Hanamura Temple, which as been reworked to emphasize team fights. There's now only one payload to fight over. Other changes include an updated map layout and the introduction of the Recon Camp which replaces the Boss at the center of the map.
