GAMESCOM 2017 - Special Warface Mission Takes Players To Chernobyl Ghost Town Of Pripyat
An all new Warface mission announced at Gamescom 2017 will take place in the most well known city of the Chernobyl exclusion zone, "Pripyat". The special operation -- set to come out later this year -- is a large scale mission that will send players into the heart of the Chernobyl disaster. It will feature an in-depth story as well as new mechanics. To accompany these, it will add a new set of enemies and bosses boasting a new selection of combat skills for players to contend with.
The mission is still in development, and is scheduled for release later this year. The devs consider it to be "one of the most ambitious missions" to date -- both for its plot and the level of graphic realism. They are going out of their way to recreate Priyapat as authentically as possible, even visiting the the real-world exclusion zone multiple times in order to study the environment and capture the feel of the place.
Warface's creative director notes that "Pripyat is an infamously dangerous place," and that once this mission goes live, "it will mark an important milestone in both Warface's gameplay and plot and will set the stage for a whole series of future plot-related updates."
“In other words, Pripyat launches a new era in Warface, and our players should be ready for the disclosure of many plot details and secrets.”
