Gameglobe now in Open Beta
Gameglobe caught our eye during an interview at this years Gamescom. Since then we have been eagerly awaiting a chance to try out the intriguing browser game which allows players to create fantastically creative 3D worlds and then easily share them with others. Today, we finally get the chance to jump in and create devilishly detailed levels to share with the start of the open beta.
Its difficult to describe the game without making comparisons to LittleBigPlanet for the PS3 and for good reason. Both games share the concept of giving players a full range of tools to create diverse levels for other players to enjoy and while its not the first browser game to do so (Roblox is another browser game that features a similar premise) it certainly seems more polished and graphically detailed.
However unlike LittleBigPlanet which is undeniably a 2D platformer at heart, Gameglobe focuses more on the third-person perspective. The game certainly has enough customization tools to create a 2D platformer level but it's sort of a waste of talent. Kinda like asking a world renowned chef to make you a grilled cheese sandwich.
Gameglobe seemingly rewards creativity rather than restricting it. If you enjoy games such as LittleBigPlanet or Minecraft then i'd recommend you give this game a try. Players looking to try the game can sign in now on the official site!
