Future Games Show Reveals Gameplay Of Remedy's FBC: Firebreak, A Co-Op Shooter In The Control Universe
Sticky notes just became something to be afraid of at The Oldest House.
Ok, yes I may be biased on this one. I LOVE Control. It is easily one of the best games I've ever played and that's coming from someone who would almost always rather boot up an RPG over a shooter game. However, Remedy's mystical world created at The Oldest House, The Hiss, and the Federal Bureau of Control just created a world I fell in love with very quickly. One of the most liked comment on the trailer below sums it up nicely saying "This universe they built is so smart because they can do anything and we're left like 'yup, makes sense.'"
Now, we've known that Remedy was working on a multiplayer title in that world for some time now. We wrote up their reveal of FBC: Firebreak back in October of last year. Firebreak refers to the unit you'll be playing as in game. This elite force is the only team equipped to deal with the constant transformations of The Oldest House. The Hiss is running wild and even sticky notes are causing chaos.
You and two friends are tasked with clearing things out and making it through "Jobs," instanced PvE challenges that are made to be repeatable. Make it to the end of the job and yes, there's bosses to take down. Before heading out, make sure to pick your "Crisis Kit." Each kit bestows different abilities based on mobility, massive attacks, or supporting teammates. Jump, Fix, or Splash...pick a kit.
Remedy will be hosting an AMA on their Steam page on March 31st if you'd like to learn more. I will certainly be watching and, I imagine, The Director will be, too.
FBC: Firebreak will be released this year on Steam, the Epic Games Store, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5. Remedy says it will be a "mid-priced" title.
