Full Season 12 Details As Overwatch 2 Heads Into Space Next Week With Juno And A New Game Mode Leading The Way
Xbox Game Pass rewards coming September 17th.
Season 12, New Frontiers, hits Overwatch 2 next week on the 20th and players of Blizzard's hero shooter are getting a new hero, a new game mode, and a competitive rank reset. Where could all of this take place besides space?
Juno is a new support hero of the mobile variety dropping healing from their Mediblaster while also dishing out a little extra damage of their own via Pulsar Torpedoes. Should your group need to get the hell out of dodge quickly, Juno's Hyper Ring ability speeds everyone up. Juno is quick on her own though and if things ever get too bad, she can call in an Orbital Ray to break through chokepoints.
While everyone loves a new hero to mess around with, Season 12 will also introduce the new Clash game mode. You and your team will still have to capture points, but the lay of the land has changed and new streamlined routes and dynamically spawning capture points keep the focus a bit more on battle and less on running back to your team.
Competitive players amongst you will be seeing a reset of ranks so you'll have to work your way back up the ladder once again, but at least you get the improvements to the "Avoid As Teammate" option to improve your matching a bit.
While the full reveal blog gives you some additional info, if you intend to play the game on Xbox Game Pass, you'll be able to starting on September 17th. If you're a subscriber, you'll get 30 Mythic Prisms and be eligible for future rewards, as well. Keep an eye on the announcements.
