Frontiersman: Albion Online Ventures forth into Alpha
If you've signed up for a chance to participate in the cross-platform, Ultima Online inspired sandbox MMORPG Albion Online, you'll probably want to check your inbox. Starting today, developer Sandbox Interactive will be conducting a two week Alpha test for the MMO, allowing some players to explore, craft and ultimately claim their own territories within the world.
Given that Albion Online is heavily focused on cooperative Guild PvP, Sandbox Interactive has released a new update which notably adds customizable guild emblems displayed on a players armor, while also making it easier for players to actually find suitable guilds by using the new guild search tool.
The devs have also gone about adding a real estate system, which -after a small fee- grants the player his own plot of land on which they can build and furnish their own house. The real estate system is separate from the territory control meta-game which protects the player's house from any marauding guilds who may have otherwise reduced the quaint cottage to a pill a rubble. Be sure to check out the official update video above for more info.
The Alpha currently has no NDA meaning players are free -and even encouraged- to stream and post gameplay. MMOBomb managed to snag a key and will be streaming the Albion Online Alpha tomorrow during our weekly Bomblive series on Twitch starting at 2PM PST. Players interested in securing an alpha key can still signup on the official site.

Looks extremely dull and boring. To even mention Ultima Online is an absolute insult to that great game.
Yes, players have to gather and craft everything hence all the running around resource gathering but god...I felt like a drone and not enjoying "playing" at all. Felt more like working lol.
