Free This Weekend: American Truck Simulator, Elder Scrolls Online, Cities: Skylines, And More
While we don't normally report on games that are temporarily free-to-play here at MMOBomb, we thought this weekend's selection of free PC games had enough high-quality titles to break with that tradition. Also, it's a slow Friday and you're probably wondering what to play this weekend anyway.
Roam the open roads of the Western U.S. in American Truck Simulator, and if the trucking life appeals to you, pick up the game itself for just $4.99, a 75% discount. Many of the DLC packages are also discounted, and Arizona is free. Who'd want to pay for all that desert anyway?
If a life of crime appeals to you more than a life of hauling cargo, check out multiplayer heist game Payday 2. That's also $4.99 if you decide to buy, while its Legacy Collection -- which contains five years of DLC and 37 items -- is only $13.67. What a, well, steal!
Engage in a different kind of mayhem in Just Cause 4 Reloaded, which has you dealing with not only legions of bad guys but also the occasional tornado. How many hit points does a tornado have?
Renowned city-builder Cities: Skylines is also free for the weekend, which is now making me think there needs to be a crossover between it and Payday 2. "Build the perfect city ... and then rob it blind!" Come on, developers, this is a sure-fire hit!
Finally, if you want some free MMORPG action, and you've tried everything else out there, give The Elder Scrolls Online a shot. The best thing about this multiplayer online title based on a Bethesda franchise: It's not Fallout 76.
