SGF 2022: Free-To-Play RTS Stormgate Reveals Trailer Along With Some Serious RTS Credentials
The game is scheduled to enter beta some time next year.
Today, during Summer Game Fest, Frost Giant Studios dropped a new trailer for Stormgate, a free-to-play RTS. The game boasts some pretty solid RTS credentials, with former Blizzard developers who worked on Warcraft III and StarCraft II on the staff. It focuses on the war between humanity and alien invaders and has both a sci-fi and fantasy feel and allows players to work on missions together or go it alone. For the more competitive folks, the game also offers a 1v1 ladder for players to fight over, as well as other planned PvP modes to support the esports scene.
Today, Stormgate’s developers offered players a look at the game with a reveal trailer – which you can see below. For those wondering about the game’s free-to-play model, the developers do say it won’t be pay-to-win...because they all say that.
On an interesting note, for those of you who are interested in doing a bit of their own creating, the game also offers players the ability to create their own missions using a built-in editor. The editor allows players to draw their own terrain, modify units, and even publish their maps for other players.
