Knockout City’s Season 6: City of Tomorrow Is Here, And So Is Free-to-Play
Enjoy the future of dodgeball with this science themed new season
Electronic Arts now free-to-play title, Knockout City, is entering Season 6. In this new update dodgeball fans can expect Hideout updates, Boomerang Ball, Loss Forgiveness, new Events, new Playlists, and a whole lot more. In addition, Knockout City no longer requires players to have a PlayStation Plus, Xbox Live Gold, or Nintendo Switch Online Membership to play.
Players who did spend money to get the game through these various subscriptions will be rewarded with an exclusive Loyalty Royalty Bundle after logging into the game after June 1.
Season 6 is the City of Tomorrow, featuring the Super Science Symposium along with super-science themed cosmetics to earn and buy. Returning with Season 6 is The City of Tomorrow Brawl Pass Premium Edition which features 100 levels of rewards, outfits, poses, trophies, and enough Holobux to buy the next Season’s Brawl Pass. In the Free Edition of the Brawl Pass players will earn exclusive "Among Us" themed cosmetics.
Boomerang Ball has been added to Street Play, League Play, and Private Match, as well as the Hideout. A player's initial throw of a Boomerang Ball will act just like a Basic Ball, allowing players to use a Charged, Passed, Straight Thrown, Curve Thrown, or Lob Thrown ball. However, if the ball hits a player, another ball, or level geometry, it will bounce back using the same throw type a player used initially. Players will be able to catch a returning Boomerang Ball or use a Perfect Catch to add a Tier of Overcharge. Players should note that while a returning Boomerang Ball will not deal damage, players will take a non-damaging hit like they do from Tackles or the cars in Knockout Roundabout.
New permanent additions have been added to a player's Hideout. There will now be a new rooftop, soccer ball & goals, basketball hoops, new parkour, crew banner, purchasable jukebox tracks, and even the new Boomerang Ball.
Lastly there have been changes to loss forgiveness and bonus points. In League Play, sometimes players will encounter “unfair situations,” players may now qualify for either loss forgiveness or bonus points. Loss forgiveness should hopefully protect players in many situations and the addition of bonus points may even help turn the unfortunate scenarios into positive opportunities.
Knockout City fans who want to make sure they are getting all the juicy details can check out the official post which includes more information on the new energy drink, new music, and other small game improvements.
