Fractured Online Sept 3 Update

Today, Dynamight Studios dropped the latest update for its MMORPG Fractured Online. A big piece of this update is the Unity 2022.3 LTS upgrade, a jump from the older version of Unity that the devs had been stuck using and which caused a certain amount of instability. This resulted in problems like the server crashes that players have had to deal with recently. A full engine update was required and has now been implemented.

The other big focus of today’s update is a series of quality-of-life changes. These changes include the addition of some new options to the game’s settings menu. For instance, players may now change their controls MOBA/RTS-like, quick casting can be disabled, mouse cursor graphics can be changed to something more visible, and players will now see mob names when they mouseover them.

Other QoL adjustments include things that just make things a bit nicer in general. Players can now mount in 1 second instead of 4 when not in combat. Targeting has also been improved. In addition, the "I’M STUCK" button can be used in sieges, Game Masters can enter active siege zones, and there are more improvements.

There’s good news for speakers of Italian as well. The bug has been fixed and selecting Italian as a language no longer disables chat.

On an additional note, as players know, the free week was due to end. However, the devs want everyone to be able to experience the new update, so they’re extending the free week again, until Monday, September 9.
