Foxhole's Persistent World Of War Isn't Just On The Land And Sea Next Year, "Airborne" Brings The Fight To The Skies
Before "Airborne" drops, infantry will also get some massive improvements.
The idea of a persistent war game has always been intriguing to me. I don't generally play them, but there's something neat about games like Planetside 2 and Foxhole. They end up making players themselves the content with large-scale battles sometimes taking weeks to resolve as each and every player logs in and out at will.
Foxhole, in particular, falls on the more "realistic" end of war games and, up until now, featured ground and sea combat, giving players multiple options for their preferred playstyle. Today, Siege Camp has unveiled the next, and honestly the most logical, update coming to Foxhole: the sky. Taking a seat in multiple aircraft, dropping troops behind enemy lines for a little sabotage, or working with the new logistics positions to keep planes in the sky all become options to carry your team to ultimate victory.
While the Airborne update isn't arriving until Summer 2025, Foxhole will get an update this month that should make infantry players pretty happy. On November 18th, "Infantry" drops a new combat overhaul, more anti-tank weaponry, an updated battleground, medic upgrades, and more.
Honestly...maybe I will give Foxhole a whirl come Airborne. Have you played? Is it any good?
